Long Lost Hidden Chamber may be Found in King Tut's Tomb, Researchers Say

A team of archaeologists said the tomb of Tutankhamun may hold a shrouded chamber containing the tomb of Queen Nefertiti. Up until this point, radar filters have neglected to affirm such a chamber.

Presently, a physicist intends to lead a group directing another expedition using ground-penetrating radar (GPR) scanners as a final desperate attempt to discover Nefertiti's internment site. In this technique, high-recurrence radio waves skip off the ground and off of dividers, and the reflected signs can uncover concealed fortunes or empty chambers. This is the third time that this strategy has been utilized as a part of Tutankhamun's tomb and it is indistinct how the new outputs will be unique in relation to the others.

The leader of this investigation, physics professor Francesco Porcelli at the University of Turin in Italy, disclosed to Live Science that he can't say much else in regards to the forthcoming outputs without the endorsement of Egypt's  antiquities ministry. The ministry did not return a message left by Live Science.

In 2015, Nicholas Reeves, chief of the Amarna Royal Tombs Project, proposed the possibility that a shrouded chamber inside King Tut's tomb contained the tomb of Queen Nefertiti. Ground-penetrating radar checks did by radar technologist Hirokatsu Watanabe as far as anyone knows indicated confirmation of two concealed chambers. Reeves distributed a paper showing his hypothesis in 2015.

Then, in May 2016, a National Geographic group directed another dig via ground-penetrating radar scans. Those scans demonstrated no concealed chambers in King Tut's tomb. In any case, the National Geographic Society has prohibited members from that team from speaking publicly about their exploration, said Dean Goodman, one of the leaders of the National Geographic group.

While Goodman can't talk openly about his group's results, he communicated trust in the Turin group, saying he knows a few of its members well.
