Major Update for D.Va for Overwatch Along with New Abilities

Blizzard has released some significant changes to D.Va that it's presently trying different things with in front of a Public Test Realm release. Put basically, Blizzard needs to abstain from nerfing D.Va while lessening the effect of Defense Matrix, which is broadly viewed as an amazingly intense capacity.

In light of a discussion string requiring an improvement to D.Va, lead designer Geoff Goodman laid out the "significant changes" it at present has in testing. Defense Matrix now goes through twice as much energy, which means it must be active for half as long in contrast to the present version. Furthermore, she picks up the capacity to shoot her weapons while flying around with her boosters, which for now deactivates her normal attacks.

These alterations are joined by another ability, Micro Missiles. This dispatches a long salvo of little rockets that detonate on impact, dealing damage to nearby opponents. Micro Missiles can be used even when utilizing her fusion cannons or another ability.

"The combination of these changes allow her to play more aggressively and deal more damage, at the cost of being able to Defense Matrix as often as before," Goodman explained. "Defense Matrix still remains an extremely powerful tool when timed correctly, but the reduced uptime means D.Va won't be able to use it nearly as often overall."

As per Goodman, she's a "ton of fun to play with these changes." There's no word yet on when they will be discharged to people in general, yet he stated, "Hopefully we'll have a new PTR up soon!" Based on how that PTR goes, it's conceivable these progressions could be changed further; Blizzard has reacted to criticism in the past and balanced updates before they are discharged in full to the general population.
