Twitter Won't Ban Donald Trump Because He Has Special Status
According to PRI, there are certain factors being considered before an account is entirely removed. Among these are “newsworthiness” and “public interest.”
On its official corporate blog, Twitter said:
Blocking a world leader from Twitter or removing their controversial Tweets would hide important information people should be able to see and debate.
The rage over Trump on social media sites has been here for as far as the people can remember. But it was only recently when the netizens seemed to have had enough of the president’s online shenanigans.

Trump announced on Twitter that he had a “much bigger” and “more powerful” nuclear button than Kim Jong-un, North Korea’s infamous leader.
Critics claim that the POTUS’ online attitude has endangered the world and, more importantly, violated Twitter’s ban on serious threats of violence. There were even users who have protested at Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters on Wednesday.
Twitter, however, responded that a ban would not make any sense at all. Doing so would not really silence leaders like Trump. The company reiterated, though, that it always reviews tweets coming from world leaders and that it enforces rules accordingly.
It was quoted saying:
No one person's account drives Twitter's growth, or influences these decisions. We work hard to remain unbiased with the public interest in mind."
As of this writing, the White House has yet to respond to the request for comment on Twitter’s official statement. There are a number of users who have expressed support for the company’s decision, though others criticized the social media giant of double standards.
One user said that if he tweeted “half of what Trump has since he entered office,” there is no doubt that the company would have “permanently banned” him from the platform.
